You will be required to demonstrate that you have a suitable system in place to record payments.

This includes having a suitably qualified person to administer employee remuneration.

You need to be able to provide a register of all your workers employed and those present on the date of inspection.

Your payment records need to show:

  • that workers have been paid according to their employment agreement.

  • dates and intervals of payments

  • notification method used to ensure workers know when they have been paid

  • method of payment

  • payment amount

Payment records must be securely stored for seven years and accessible to workers when individual payment information is requested.

TIPS:

  • Include payroll training in relevant role induction

  • Review the available resources to ensure you understand your record keeping requirements
