Records must be kept of all fertiliser applications including:

  • KPIN (Kiwifruit Property Identification Number)

  • The block reference

  • Date of application

  • Name and type of fertiliser

  • Quantities applied (rate or concentration as applicable)

  • Method of application

  • Name of individual applicator

  • Name of CAV Contractor (PMO number)

These records must be recorded in the Zespri fertiliser diary system or the grower’s own fertiliser record.

Records relating to Equipment

Records of any maintenance carried out on equipment must be kept.

A record of annual calibration must be kept for application equipment. The person calibrating the equipment needs to demonstrate that they are competent to do so -  through either a documented calibration procedure to follow, or a CV outlining competency.

Protective clothing and equipment

Workers must be equipped with the appropriate protective clothing for their job. This should be listed in the Health and Safety Risk Assessment.
