Biosecurity refers to taking measures to prevent the introduction or spread of harmful organisms to our kiwifruit.

Contractors are considered high-risk to biosecurity because of their movement and use of equipment between orchards.

The Pathway Management Plan requires contractors to have a biosecurity plan that identifies the potential risks they bring to the orchard, and the steps to be taken (control measures) to manage these risks. Contractors should have a plan that includes biosecurity hygiene practices, staff awareness, and training appropriate to their level of risk.
