Agrichemical Understanding & Planning
Our growers are required to develop a Property Spray Plan for each KPIN.
This plan outlines how to responsibly manage agrichemical use on their property and how to minimise any adverse effects on people and the environment.
As a Spray Contractor, you are responsible for obtaining a job sheet from a grower for each spray application and checking that it covers:
-
Measures taken to prevent spray drift to and from the orchard
-
Notifications, who will be notified and how (grower or contractor)
-
The orchard/s map is current (updated annually)
-
Sensitive areas
-
Industry shelter requirements are met
-
AI nozzles are used when required
-
Any disposal requirements
This job sheet will align with the growers Property Spray Plan.
It is important that you follow the procedures on the job sheet and know what the re-entry periods are for products used, refer to the agrichemical label for re-entry information and ensure that re-entry signage is used on orchard when required.
